Stem Cell

Stem cell research and therapy has been utilized for years to help understand how genetic diseases occur as well as to understand cell and tissue regeneration. We in MBG provide this service by isolating stem cells from adipose tissue which helps in promoting the repair and healing response of the injured area. Our Stem cell therapy services also include Platelet rich plasma (PRP) treatment which is widely used for humans and animals, especially for orthopedic procedures. It is reported to increase healing properties by utilizing plasma rich in growth factors to activate tissue regeneration. In MBG our main clients for PRP are racing horses and camels that can benefit from the treatment mainly during the racing seasons.

Assay Code AOT-067
Description
In MBG lab, stem cell procedure is carried out in 3 steps:

Step 1: Fat collection – A small sample of fat is collected from the animal by the veterinarian and shipped to MBG Lab.

Step 2: Processing – The Regenerative Cells are isolated from the fat tissue at MBG Lab and shipped to the veterinarian.

Step 3: Injection – The Regenerative Cells are injected back into the animal by the veterinarian.

Upon client’s request, the isolated cells can be cryopreserved and stored in liquid nitrogen for future use.

Autoimmune tissue reaction is minimal as the animal’s own cells used. Minimally manipulated cells are not differentiated or modified. Use of stringent processing protocols and Quality Control methods.

MBG-Stem cell therapy can be used to treat large animals such as horse, camel, etc. as well as small animals such as dogs, cats, etc. A number of conditions are treated such as chronic Osteoarthritis and Orthopaedic, soft tissue (tendons, ligament, and fractures).

Assay Code AOT-068
Description A service provided under MBG-Stem is Platelet-rich Plasma (PRP). This is an exceptional way to treat joints and other injuries and interestingly it can be administered to the injured animal in conjunction with Stem cell therapy for a better outcome.

Platelet-rich plasma is a treatment widely used for humans and animals especially for orthopedic procedures. It is reported to increase healing properties by utilizing plasma rich in growth factors to activate tissue regeneration. In MBG our main clients are racing horses and camels that can benefit from the treatment, especially during the racing seasons.

Species Tested
  • Camel
  • Equine

Method Differential Centrifugation.
Sample Type
2 syringes of 60 ml of Acid Citrate Dextrose (ACD) added whole blood. Before sending the sample for PRP preparation, contact the lab for a collection of syringes for blood collection.
Transport Condition Samples should be transported at 4°C and immediately delivered.
Turn Around Time (TAT) It is recommended that the time of blood collection to the time of injection of autologous PRP back into the animal should not exceed 4 hours.
