Platelet-rich plasma is a treatment widely used for humans and animals especially for orthopedic procedures. It is reported to increase healing properties by utilizing plasma rich in growth factors to activate tissue regeneration. Differential Centrifugation.
Sample Type
2 syringes of 60 ml of Acid Citrate Dextrose (ACD) added whole blood. Before sending the sample for PRP preparation, contact the lab for a collection of syringes for blood collection.
Transport Condition
Samples should be transported at 4°C and immediately delivered.
Turn Around Time (TAT)
It is recommended that the time of blood collection to the time of injection of autologous PRP back into the animal should not exceed 4 hours.
